What is Movement Innovation?
Based in Burleigh, Queensland, Movement Innovation is the most welcoming, inclusive, and progressive fitness community on the Gold Coast. We help people become the best versions of themselves and achieve the impossible – actually looking forward to the gym.
There’s no one, universal answer to this. Despite knowing they should go, people often avoid the gym due to a combination of deeply ingrained personal habits, lack of experience, intimidation, fear of judgment, cost concerns, a general lack of motivation, and the lack of a supportive social environment.
Many feel self-conscious about their fitness level or body image, worrying about what others might think. Others are overwhelmed by the equipment and unsure how to use it properly, leading to a fear of injury or embarrassment. Our goal is to turn the once-scary gym into a place you’re excited to walk into every day.
The movement is both a company mission and a social cause. It’s our mission to change lives through how we move our minds and our bodies. It’s also a social movement – away from the fear of exercise towards the love of exercise. A major part of what makes going to the gym fun and rewarding is the social element. Great people create great training environments. That’s why we pay special attention to how we move inside a circle of support and friendship, where everyone is just as committed to helping each other succeed as achieving their particular training goals.
Exercise shouldn’t be like visiting a relative you hate. It shouldn’t feel like a “chore” or a second job. (One job is enough.) You shouldn’t have to “psych yourself up” for a workout. Nobody should FEAR the gym. What if you actually LOVED the gym? It’s not rocket science – without love, everything stops. People stop training when they stop looking forward to exercise. People don’t look forward to seeing weights. They look forward to having fun, to seeing their friends, to feeling supported, and getting results in a fun and rewarding training environment.
Movement is medicine. It shouldn’t be something that puts your health at risk, leaves you feeling sore after each workout, or uses fear-based motivation to keep pushing for results. That never lasts. It’s also not healthy, mentally or physically. A healthy fitness lifestyle is something that puts your best interests first. It’s based on the love of training with supportive people, not the fear of what people think of you or competing to surpass the heaviest squat on record. It doesn’t throw you in the deep end, encourage unproven fads, or push you beyond your limits in unsafe ways. Our training is designed for longevity and is based around everyday movements, increasing your mobility, improving fitness, and making you stronger and healthier – for life.
