Why stretching saved me from daily knee pain

Why do I have daily knee pain at 28 years old?

I’ve had 2 Acl tears, 4 knee operations, and a partial Acl tear that happened years after my surgeries.

I’ve already been told I will someday need a knee replacement and I’m on a mission to prolong that for as long as possible.

The thing is…

There are so many people out there like me…

That’s why I want to share what has helped me.

The first time I tried stretching I felt like I almost tore my muscles off the bone and it made me not want to do it again.

I then met a friend who specialised in massage and stretching, he told me to back the intensity down from a 10/10 to a 6/10. This made faster progression and the stretch felt like a release instead of a tearing sensation.

I then committed to stretching 2-3 times per week for 10-30 minutes.

Here’s what I noticed:

Less knee pain when I got up in the morning.

More confidence while exercising.

Able to try a new sport (Boxing).

Less frustration.

My suggestion for anybody who can relate to what I have been through. Give light stretching a try, it has made a massive difference for me.
